New Release: Longhorn Steer Close-up

Known for their iconic horns, which can extend up to 7 feet tip to tip, the longhorn steer is a vision: strong, majestic, and remarkably gentle and sweet-natured for possessing such immense power. Welcome Longhorn Steer–we couldn’t be more pleased to add his peaceful presence to our collection.

Nursery Design: Sissy+Marley

We know, we know – this gorgeous nursery already made a splash on the internet back in February when things got too busy around here for us to update the blog. Better late than never? Joking aside, we were so blown away when images of Finn’s nursery landed in our inbox from the lovely ladies at Sissy+Marley. It’s such a thrill to see how our customers incorporate our prints into their spaces, and Sissy+Marley did us very proud. So for those of you who may have missed it, here’s a peek into Finn’s new room.We hope his Little Darlings are keeping him company at night….

Thank you Sissy+Marley!

A visit from The Watson twins

When we needed a song to accompany our Little Darlings video, it had to be our friends Chandra and Leigh Watson. Their signature harmonies and beautiful vocal melodies brought our video to life with the original song they wrote for us, Love of Mine. The Watson Twins visited the shop a few weeks ago; we chatted, we laughed, and we took a few pics-it was a good time and a really nice break in our busy work day.

Nursery Design: Stefan’s Stripes

It may have been the first nursery commission of his career, but when it came to the design of baby Stefan’s soothing, sunlit bedroom, Patrick Hamilton was full of inspiration.

“My clients wanted happy, calm, and cool” the designer explains. “Also, the gender of the incoming resident was a surprise for all, so we had to be flexible. Notknowing made the choices really fun. Each decision had to be tempered by the next, to make sure we got a masculine-feminine balance – which all good rooms need, not just surprise nurseries!”

After settling on a gender-neutral wildlife theme, Patrick set to work, choosing a bold Marimekko printed fabric as a unifying element. A pair of portraits from The Animal Print Shop followed soon after.

“I knew pretty early on that I wanted Baby Chick, for its puff of soft yellow, ” says Patrick. And, Stefan’s parents refer to the little man as “Stefanchik,” making the print an especially apt choice.

“I also settled on the Lamb Close-up, primarily for the color – white was a very intentional color choice in this room. And then there was the whole “counting sheep” thing – which may be wishful thinking in a nursery, sometimes!”

White frames and custom 8-ply mats were selected for the prints’ display, while furniture from Room and Board, West Elm, and CB2; a mobile from Land of Nod, and animal-themed lighting from Jonathan Adler added tasteful, stylish flair.

Patrick’s favorite details?

“I love the stripes and the painted ceiling.” he says. “But really, I love how it feels, at all times of day and night. And it was a real joy to use the animal prints. I know that as Stefan gets older, they will help him understand things about the natural world beyond his door. I can’t think of anything better than that!”

We’re honored. Thank you, Patrick, for bringing this beautiful room to our attention!

Molly Sims’ nursery + little darlings

We finally got our hands on these beautiful new images of the nursery Kishani Perera and Layla Grayce designed for Molly Sim’s sweet baby, Brooks.

What a gorgeous, calm space. Oh, and hello amazing Sputnik light fixture!

Kishani made us proud with grouping ten of our Little Darlings for baby Brooks to wake up to.

Other highlights include the Austin Crib with matching Savannah Changer, a wood carved giraffe, a fun Ellie Side Table, and a whole lot of beautiful, soft textiles.

Our Little darlings family is growing!

Whether wide-eyed and innocent (hello, Lion Cub), or sprightly and mischievous (we’re looking at you, Baby Monkey), one thing’s true of all our Little Darlings.

They’re simply adorable.

Launched last year, Little Darlings – The Animal Print Shop’s series of baby animal close-ups – has become one of our most beloved collections, especially as nursery art. And today, we’re adding to it with two charming new faces: Baby Camel and Baby Zebra.

In celebration of their arrival, we’re excited to share a brand-new video (with original music from The Watson Twins!) honoring the special relationships your Little Darlings form with our Little Darlings (Little Darlings are especially popular as nursery decor). Have a look for yourself and see what we’re talking about

The Fun Lux Nursery

The Animal Print Shop is setting out to inspire our customers with high-design spaces. First up, The Fun Lux Nursery: A sophisticated space filled with soft textiles and glam gold touches.

Collaborating with us to kick off the The Animal Print Shop Nursery Project, interior designer Morgan Satterfield brought the Fun Lux Nursery to life in Palm Springs, CA.

Mixing modern design with vintage accents, we created a modern and glamorous nursery, without sacrificing comfort. The Animal Print Shop’s Baby Animal Nursery Art complemented by an unexpected coral and navy palate, and soft neutral textiles accented by a bold, focal point patterned wall of random chevrons.

Other features are a vintage brass lotus light fixture and an old knock-off Dorothy Draper dresser Satterfield brought back to life after finding it stripped to bare wood on Craigslist. In place of a mobile, a glistening tissue tassel garland blows in the desert breeze.

Thank you so much to Rove Concepts and Oeuf for contributing to the room. The giveaway we ran for this room is now closed, but make sure you like our facebook page to stay tuned for more Nursery Projects, giveaways, and news to come!Interior Design: Morgan Satterfield
